Liposuction on Several Areas at Once: Combinations and Cost
Few people who look into liposuction want only one small area treated. More often it is the abdomen together with the flanks, or the inner and outer thighs, or the waist and lower back. Combining zones in a single operation is common, but it changes the length of surgery, the type of anaesthesia, the recovery and, of course, the price. This guide explains how those pieces fit together, so you can read a quote properly before travelling for surgery.
Which areas are usually treated together
Liposuction removes local deposits of fat under the skin that stay put despite a sensible diet and regular exercise. The body rarely stores that fat in one isolated spot, which is why surgeons often plan several neighbouring areas as one contour rather than as separate jobs.
Typical combinations include:
• abdomen and flanks, sometimes extended to the lower back so the waist is shaped all the way round;
• outer and inner thighs, occasionally together with the knees;
• arms and shoulders, sometimes with the upper back;
• chin and neck, which are almost always assessed together;
• the male chest when the swelling is mostly fat, often combined with the flanks.
Abdomen work is also frequently paired with a tummy tuck when there is loose skin or separated abdominal muscles, but that is a different operation with its own planning. Treating adjacent areas in one session lets the surgeon blend the transitions, so you do not end up with a slim waist above a fuller hip roll. Whether a particular combination makes sense for you depends on your skin quality, general health and how much fat is involved, and that can only be judged at an examination.
How combining areas changes the operation itself
According to the City Medical Centre liposuction page, a single small area can take around an hour, while a combined procedure may take three to four hours. That difference matters for more than the schedule. Small areas can often be done under local anaesthesia, and you may be able to go home three to four hours afterwards. A larger combination is usually done under general anaesthesia and typically means one day in hospital.
The technique also plays a role. In tumescent liposuction a saline solution with lidocaine and adrenaline is injected first, which loosens the fat and constricts the blood vessels. VASER uses ultrasound to break up fat cells before suction and is used for athletic definition and delicate zones. A surgeon may use different approaches on different parts of the body in the same session.
What does not grow much with the number of areas is the size of the marks. According to City Medical Centre, each cannula entry point is a puncture of about 3 to 7 mm, and these usually do not need stitches. More areas simply mean more of these small punctures, placed where they are easy to hide.
Liposuction prices by area in Moscow and how combined areas are priced
City Medical Centre in Moscow publishes starting prices per area on its liposuction page with prices by zone. Listed at the time of writing (October 2026), the figures are:
• outer thighs, from 1,200 USD;
• inner thighs, from 1,200 USD;
• flanks and waist, from 1,400 USD;
• abdomen, from 1,700 USD;
• abdomen and flanks together, from 2,400 USD;
• torso (front abdominal wall, sides and lower back), from 3,600 USD.
Two things stand out. First, these are "from" prices: the final figure is set after the surgeon has examined you. Second, combined packages are priced as a whole rather than as a simple sum. Abdomen plus flanks is listed below the total of the two separate areas, which reflects one anaesthesia, one operating session and one recovery instead of two. Source of all prices in this section: the City Medical Centre liposuction page, October 2026.
The same clinic also has an English-language page for patients travelling from London that describes the procedure for UK readers. Prices for areas not on the list, such as arms, back, chin or knees, are quoted after the examination.
What else changes the final price of liposuction
The listed area prices are a starting point, and several factors can move the final number up or down. Knowing them in advance helps you understand why two people asking for "abdomen and flanks" can receive different quotes.
The main factors are:
• how much fat needs to be removed and how firm or fibrous it is;
• whether the area has been operated on before;
• the technique chosen, for example tumescent or VASER;
• local or general anaesthesia, and therefore whether a hospital stay is needed;
• whether liposuction is combined with another operation, such as a tummy tuck;
• the results of your pre-operative tests.
Those tests are part of the preparation. They usually include a blood count, coagulation, biochemistry, infection screening, an ECG and a chest X-ray, with a GP check if needed, and the clinic also orders hormonal screening so that an endocrinologist can rule out a hormonal cause for the fat distribution. The tests can be done at the clinic. Ask the coordinator which of them are included in your quote and which are charged separately.
Questions to ask before you accept a liposuction quote
A good quote is one you can understand line by line. Before you commit, it is worth clearing up what you are actually paying for and what happens if your plans change.
Useful questions for the consultation:
• Which exact areas are included, and where do they begin and end?
• Is the price fixed in the contract, and are there any extras such as tests or compression garments?
• Will the operation be under local or general anaesthesia, and is a night in hospital included?
• How will the surgeon stay in contact with me during recovery once I am home?
• Is an interest-free instalment plan available?
City Medical Centre states that the price is fixed in the contract with no hidden extras, that interest-free instalments are possible and that the surgeon stays in touch during recovery. Questions about visas, flights, accommodation or how many days to stay in Moscow are best put directly to the coordinator, as these depend on your individual plan.
Finally, keep expectations realistic. Removed fat cells do not return, but the remaining ones can still grow if your weight goes up, and liposuction does not treat cellulite directly. A stable weight is the best way to protect a result you have paid for.
To get a quote for your own combination of areas, write to the City Medical Centre patient coordinator on Telegram and list the areas you want treated. The coordinator will contact you shortly with the next steps.
